We want to share with you that Dr. Reena Patel will be leaving AllerVie Health – Hoover on May 20, 2025 as she relocates out of state to be closer to family and continues practicing medicine in a new community. While we’re sad to see her go, we’re grateful for the care she’s provided and the impact she’s made here in Hoover. We also wanted to let you know that Lakeesha Westry’s will be leaving AllerVie Health – Hoover at the end of April.
While we’re actively recruiting a new board-certified allergist, we’re excited to welcome several Nurse Practitioners to our clinic.

While we’re actively recruiting a new board-certified allergist, we’re excited to welcome several Nurse Practitioners to our clinic. They’ll work closely with our Birmingham-area allergists to ensure you continue receiving the high-quality, personalized care you know and trust.
- Amber Dees, NP onboarded with us earlier this year and has been working closely with Dr. Patel in Hoover to ensure you have a seamless transition of care.
- Amber brings diverse experience as a nurse practitioner in cardiology, vascular care, and neurology, where she managed complex conditions like stroke and epilepsy. She earned her master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from UAB and holds certifications in BLS and FNP-BC. Through her expertise in patient care, education, and leadership, Amber consistently demonstrates a commitment to improving outcomes and empowering patients to manage their health with confidence.
- We’re excited to welcome Angelica Williams, NP and Tiffany English, NP who are joining our practice this spring and will be available to see patients soon.

If you already have an appointment scheduled with Dr. Patel or Lakeesha Westry, for your convenience, that appointment will be rescheduled with Amber Dees, or one of our other Birmingham area providers. Pollen and mold levels are determined by the National Allergy Bureau and have been translated into four levels based on the counts for the majority of days and the averages over the years.
You can always access the pollen count from the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology website, as well as subscribe to notification emails every time the pollen count has been updated.

A low pollen count means that only people who are extremely sensitive to pollen and mold will have allergy symptoms.
A moderate pollen count means more people will have allergy symptoms.
A high pollen count means that most people with a sensitivity to pollen and/or molds can experience allergy symptoms.
A very high pollen count means that almost everyone who has an allergy to molds and pollen will experience symptoms.
