Allison Wormser, DNP, FNP-C

Bio

Allison Wormser is a board-certified family nurse practitioner specializing in allergy and clinical immunology, dedicated to delivering thorough, compassionate care to patients with allergic and immunologic conditions. She currently practices at AllerVie Health, bringing with her a strong foundation in both acute and primary care built over nearly a decade at Johns Hopkins.

Dr. Wormser earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) with a Family Nurse Practitioner focus from the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing, where her doctoral quality improvement project, "Sepsis Sign-Out: Communicating Sepsis Management in Interfacility Transport," reflected her early interest in improving communication and safety across care transitions. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, cum laude, from the University of Connecticut, and completed the Nurse Residency Program at The Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Most recently, Dr. Wormser served as a nurse practitioner in the Johns Hopkins Asthma and Allergy Center, where she managed an independent patient panel and co-managed care for patients with complex asthma, drug allergy, and primary immunodeficiency. She has extensive experience initiating and managing biologic and immunoglobulin therapies, performing allergy skin testing, direct drug challenges, spirometry, and emergency management of acute anaphylaxis. She independently built and grew a penicillin-allergy de-labeling clinic, overseeing staff, scheduling, and referral pipelines to expand patient access to this important service. She has also served as a sub-investigator on clinical trials, holding current CITI certifications in Good Clinical Practice, Human Research, and Information Privacy Security.

Before specializing in allergy and immunology, Dr. Wormser practiced as a family nurse practitioner at Greater Baltimore Medical Center, managing a diverse primary care panel across all stages of life and coordinating care for patients with chronic conditions including hypertension, diabetes, asthma, and COPD. Her clinical foundation includes several years as a registered nurse at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, including service on the Medicine-Telemetry and Medical Intensive Care Unit teams and on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic, where she trained and mentored nursing staff in critical care practices during a rapidly evolving crisis.
