Bio
Monica is a board-certified family nurse practitioner, working in collaborative practice with Dr. Weily Soong. Originally from the Atlanta area, Monica earned her Bachelor of Science Nursing from Emory University. She remained in Atlanta for four years caring for adults in the ICU and in long-term care. Monica has lived in Birmingham since 2008 and earned her Master of Science in Nursing and Master of Public Health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Prior to joining the team, she cared for critically ill children at Children’s Hospital of Alabama for almost nine years. Monica enjoys working with patients of all ages. Monica has a passion for prevention and looks forward to working alongside her patients to achieve their best possible health outcomes through education and evidence-based practices. Monica is married and a proud mother to one daughter. She loves traveling, volunteering in her community, and spending time with her family and friends.
