Our allergy specialist Dr. Mark Kalenian, MD has been serving patients across Southeast Alabama since 1988. He is trained in Internal medicine as well as Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. He helps each patient get the quality care they deserve to help them live life to the fullest. Dr. Kalenian treats allergies and asthma in adults and children. He also provides adult and pediatric allergy testing and treatment for food allergies, pollen allergies, adult on-set asthma and pediatric asthma.

Pollen and mold levels are determined by the National Allergy Bureau and have been translated into four levels based on the counts for the majority of days and the averages over the years.

You can always access the pollen count from the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology website, as well as subscribe to notification emails every time the pollen count has been updated.

How to read pollen count

LOW

A low pollen count means that only people who are extremely sensitive to pollen and mold will have allergy symptoms.

MODERATE

A moderate pollen count means more people will have allergy symptoms.

HIGH

A high pollen count means that most people with a sensitivity to pollen and/or molds can experience allergy symptoms.

Very High

A very high pollen count means that almost everyone who has an allergy to molds and pollen will experience symptoms.
